How to Make Athletics Balanced and Fun

For all youth involved in sports, participation should be healthy, safe and enjoyable to reduce injury risk and optimize performance. Appropriate early entry and diverse athletic exposure to sports establishes a strong foundation for sustainable participation and long-term health, fitness and fun! However, there are a number of challenges for youth athletes at all levels of athletic participation and achievement. Michael F. Bergeron, PhD, FACSM, shares the importance of keeping youth sports balanced and fun, even while aiming high.
